Whether it is a fully automatic mechanical watch or a manual mechanical watch, or a quartz watch, except for some outdoor sports watches, all of them need to be used with care.
First, with regard to shock resistance, mechanical watches are very precise objects with many parts and complex structures. Some high-end watches have more complicated structures and parts because of their complex functions and are more precise and therefore more delicate. It can be said that the more expensive the watch, the more it needs to be protected. Do not wear a watch to engage in heavy physical activities, such as high-intensity sports, or even fight with others. Some watch lovers are cautious when applauding when watching a performance. In fact, the anti-shock part of the mechanical watch is the shock absorber, which prevents damage to the escapement structure by vibration through a certain mechanical structure, but the anti-shock effect of this point is very small.
Second, about waterproofing. Don't think that if the watch is said to be waterproof to 30 meters, it can really be placed underwater at a depth of 30 meters. This is just a standard. When the watch factory tests the water resistance, it is placed in a pressurized chamber for a pressurized test. It is static water pressure. In actual use, the impact of the flowing water flow is much greater. The pressure is higher than this value.
Generally speaking, the waterproof of the watch refers to the following aspects:
30 meters waterproof, 3atm, can't wear and wash hands, and avoid direct rain when it rains heavily. This level of waterproof is life waterproof, which is equivalent to none. Be careful.
50 meters waterproof, that is, 5atm, you can wear it and wash your hands, and it is not a big problem to get some raindrops, but it is only enough for splashing water, so you still need to pay attention.
Waterproof to 100 meters, you can wash your hands, swim, and take a bath (cold shower) while wearing it.
200m, can be used for snorkeling, or diving with oxygen cylinders at low depths.
Some are even 600 meters or more than 300 meters, and some are more than 1,000 meters. Never mind, the water resistance is extremely strong, and you can basically reach the depth you can reach.
In addition, about bathing and hot springs. Note that any watch cannot be worn in hot baths and hot springs. The reason is water vapor. The molecules of water vapor are much smaller than liquid water. Many waterproof watches can prevent water, but they cannot prevent water vapor. Moreover, when the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the watch is large, due to the different cooling speeds, the watch that has not entered the water will be damaged. Negative pressure will be generated after cooling, and the outside water will be sucked into the watch case to cause water ingress. Therefore, please remember, don’t try to take a hot bath or soak in hot springs with any watch. Keep away from steam environments and environments with drastic temperature changes.
Third, about antimagnetic. The internal parts of the mechanical watch are made of steel and other metals. If it is close to household appliances, such as someone likes to put the watch on the refrigerator, TV, mobile phone, or computer, it is easy to test the parts of the watch to be magnetized. The specific manifestation is that the travel time suddenly speeds up, and the error sometimes speeds up by more than ten minutes a day. Note that this is not the fault of the watch. As long as you take it to the watch shop for degaussing in time, it can be solved without causing adverse damage to the watch.
Fourth, about the adjustment time. A watch with a calendar cannot be adjusted between 9:00 pm and 3:00 am. Note that this does not refer to the actual time, but the time indicated by the dial of the watch. Because when the watch reaches this time period, it is the time when the internal gear drives the calendar wheel to turn over the calendar. If the time or date is adjusted, it may cause wear and damage to the gears that do not mesh. When adjusting the time, the force should be uniform, try to avoid reverse adjustment, and avoid adjusting the time during the above-mentioned time period.
Fifth, regarding winding, manual watches should be wound on time, and automatic watches can guarantee sufficient power as long as they are worn every day. What I want to say here is that automatic watches generally have the function of manual chain replacement, that is, automatic watches that have not been worn for a period of time, after stopping, some people like to pick them up and shake them hard to wind them up. Scientifically, vigorous shaking will have a bad effect on the internal parts of the watch. The correct way is to twist the crown like a manual watch, and manually replenish the chain. It is enough to go up 10-20 times. At this time, the watch will start to move, and then you
can continue to wear it normally. Or you can wear the stopped watch on your wrist, walk normally, walk around the house a few times, and wind the watch by simulating the swing of the arm that usually walks. Never shake the watch violently.
Sixth, about the strap. Not to mention the steel strap, the leather strap should be waterproof. People who sweat a lot in summer should avoid wearing a leather strap. If you really want to wear it, you should buckle it looser than usual to ensure that there is enough space between the strap and your wrist. Breathable, prevent the strap from being soaked in sweat, which will stink or even soak, greatly shortening the service life. The general practice is to buy a steel belt version when buying a watch, and then match it with a leather strap.
The above are the tips to protect the automatic mechanical watch. We are the manufacturer of an automatic mechanical watch. If you need to customize the watch, please contact us.
